What is Boudoir?

The word “boudoir” is a French term which refers to a lady’s private bedroom or dressing room. Boudoir photography is a style of photography which is dedicated to portraying lovely ladies, like yourself, in a sensual or sexually suggestive setting. You are often partially clothed or in lingerie or other intimate apparel, or sometimes nude (though nudity is more often implied than explicit)—whatever you and the photographer are comfortable with.

The trend of boudoir photography is becoming more and more popular in recent years. Not only do boudoir photographs make a terrific surprise wedding gift for brides to give their future husbands on their wedding day, but they can also be given for anniversaries, birthdays, holidays, extended military deployments or business trips, or even just to let your man know you love him. They can also be taken as a personal gift for yourself, to cherish and appreciate the beautiful woman you are and always will be.

Expectations

You can expect a respectful, friendly, all-female environment in a location either chosen by you, the client, or myself. I will work with you on posing, positioning, etc to make you look the best. I always welcome your ideas for those shots you want to have for yourself.

I expect that you arrive on time for your session My main concern is that you are comfortable, relaxed, and having fun!  I am confident that you will love how you look in these photos.

FAQs

Where will the photo session take place?
The client is responsible for finding and arranging the location for the session. It can take place in a hotel, your home or a friend's home. In order to provide you with the best possible photographs, I recommend the following features about the location you choose:

- Select a location with a large, well-lit room. Certain poses and shots will require a certain distance between you and the photographer in order to really capture that special shot.
- Aside from the obvious concerns of privacy during the photoshoot, also consider a location where you are not going to be interrupted for the duration of your session.
- Select a location with an adjacent or separate room for changing your wardrobe (ie; bathroom).
- Furniture and background items should reflect the style you are wanting to be present in your photographs. For furniture, I recommend at least a bed, a sofa, and a chair.

Will my images be shown to anyone?

Not unless you give me permission! I will never show your images to anyone.  However, if you approve a few of the images, I will use them on my website and for other advertising purposes.  I will never use your images unless you have given me permission in writing.

What does impled-nude mean?

Implied nude means that you aren't wearing any clothes, but elements in the photograph--such as your hand or leg, a piece of fabric, or light and shadows--are strategically placed to cover up certain body parts.

Do I have to get naked?

Absolutley not!  We will only take pictures that you feel comfortable taking.  I take tasteful and classy pictures, so you do not have to be any more exposed than you want to be.

What should I wear? Do I need to bring anything?

Clothing, partial clothing, and implied nudity can all be sexy so plan your clothing items around what your comfort level is. Bring tried and true items you already have and feel beautiful while wearing. If you plan on shopping, make sure you’ve tried the clothing on, moved around, and love it. You will look the sexiest when you feel confident and good inside. Keep in mind, this is ultimately about what you want, what you like, and what you want to see yourself in.
Your clothing should reflect your taste and personal style.

Bra and Panties
Most importantly, bring a varied selection of bra and panty sets to choose from. Start with basic black and then add colors and patterns. Bras and panties can be photographed alone or paired with any of the other clothing items or accessories you bring.

Lingerie
A baby doll nightie, vintage slip, teddy and/or camisole always photograph well. Corsets with thigh high stockings, a garter belt, and heels are super sexy too. Start simple and grow more extreme from there. Think about what colors look good on you. Maybe even ask your fiance/husband/boyfriend what outfits he likes or what colors he prefers on you — not suspiciously of course!

Accessories
You can easily modify the look of your outfit by changing your accessories. Accessories include jewelry, scarves, hats, stilettos, boots, gloves, fishnets, stockings, garter belts, etc. Better yet, personalize your photographs for your significant other by bringing along one of his shirts or his favorite tie!

Can I bring someone to the session with me?

Absolutley!  Feel free to bring someone along, if it will make you feel more comfortable.  Most of the time this would be one of your girl friends, and not your significant other--you don't want to spoil any surprises!  When you are comfortable, you are yourself, and these photos are about how beautiful you are.
